Carbon Ambitions 2030
It is urgent to fight against global warming
In a world where the climate emergency is at the center of all concerns, "carbon neutrality" is presented as a leading solution for reducing greenhouse gases, which are partly responsible for global warming. However, "carbon neutrality" inevitably involves offsetting carbon emissions. This is based on the principle that the impacts of a ton of carbon emitted somewhere can be neutralized by the sequestration or reduction of another ton of carbon elsewhere in the world. Groupe Rocher has chosen carbon sobriety rather than compensation by prioritizing reduction before developing renewable energies on the residual.
Sobriety rather than carbon offsetting
Our priority: to reduce the greenhouse gases generated by our activities & to develop renewable energies!
To achieve this, we have set ourselves ambitious goals!
- To make La Gacilly, our native land, as well as all our Breton production sites, low-carbon by 2024, thanks to the switch to renewable energies;
- To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from transportation;
- Reduce our Group-wide emissions by 20% by 2025 vs. 2019.
- We know we have a long way to go, but we are committed and will make every effort to reduce our emissions by 50% by 2030 vs. 2010.
Let's all commit to taking concrete action and fighting global warming.
