On European Mobility Week, Groupe Rocher highlights its carbon footprint reduction objectives.

For several months now, two electric trucks have been transit between La Gacilly sites. Thanks to them, there is a 96% reduction in CO² emissions on inter-site journeys! This action is part of the FRET21 initiative to which Groupe Rocher has been committed to since last April.

Rocher Group and FRET21

Within the FRET21 program, Groupe Rocher has strengthened its commitments, particularly on the environmental issue.  It formalises its initiative by setting concrete objectives and has now the tools to objectively calculate the carbon footprint of its means of transport. By 2023, the Group is committed to reduce its carbon impact by at least 6% in the Transport area.

In order to meet its objectives, Groupe Rocher Operations focused on three points:
• The optimisation of its trucks loading.
• The use of alternative energies to Diesel.
• The piloting of a responsible transport purchasing policy.

What is FRET21?

Initiated by the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition and Ademe, this initiative is part of the Voluntary Commitments for the Environment (EVE) programme. The French programme's objective is to encourage transport economic players to better integrate the impact of transport into their sustainable development strategy.
