Planning and Performance Manager, Groupe Rocher Operations, Brittany, France
Soft skills count. Develop them!

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I organize scheduling in line with planned volumes for the production lines at one of our factories.

My second role is to deploy the management tools needed to meet future economic challenges.

To do my job well, you need to be curious, be an active listener, and be unbiased. Analytical thinking, capacity to unite people, and experience in continuous improvement are also key in my position.

With a diverse educational background (a degree in applied foreign languages, a master’s in management and a certifying course in purchasing management), I joined Groupe Rocher in 2013 and spent six years in purchasing for packaging and subcontracting. In 2019, I moved into operational excellence, with a lot of training to develop my skills. In July 2024 I was promoted to become Planning and Performance Manager. And my goal is to work in Human Resources one day

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

The group has always given me the opportunity to take on new positions without any training prerequisites. Each time I learn on-the-job; and each time I change jobs, I benefit from training programs providing me with fundamental technical skills, such as Lean Black Belt training and collective facilitation program, which have enabled me to carry out my duties.

In 2024, I became a leader in the group’s internal community of collective intelligence facilitators in France.

Thanks to the group’s internal mobility program, this is the third position I’ve held in 11 years! These career moves and the associated training courses have allowed me to develop a wide range of skills, such as change management, operational excellence, lean management, and more.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Soft skills count. Develop them!

E-Commerce Manager, Yves Rocher Canada
Develop your in-house network, increase your chances for exposure!

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

As an e-commerce manager, I manage the Yves Rocher Canada website. To do my job, you have to be curious, adaptable and agile, because online retail performance is extremely volatile. So you have to be able to adapt fast. Rigor and analytical thinking are also key.

After graduating from business school in France, I joined Groupe Rocher as an intern to work with the Yves Rocher brand in 2016. And I’ve been with the group ever since!

I was lucky enough to benefit from international mobility to Belgium and then Canada in 2018. Since arriving in Montreal, I’ve been promoted twice and have held my current position since 2022.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

I’ve always been fortunate to have managers who were deeply involved in my development and learning. The group has given me the opportunity to grow, even though I sometimes lacked the necessary experience, because my managers trusted in my abilities.

My international mobility has helped me to learn about different mindsets and cultures, and that has taught me a lot.

The training programs I’ve taken include a technical course on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and women leadership training in 2024, which enabled me to boost my self-confidence, reframe my attitude towards risk and develop my network outside the company.

I also had a rather unique learning experience as a member of an internal body that aims to enhance relations between employees and the management committee, to ensure employee buy-in to strategic projects. That experience was very informative about the complexity of an organization and the importance of internal communication.

In addition to my regular responsibilities, I’ve also been a trainer with Nature Academy, an internal multinational program on environmental issues. This position strengthened my communication and leadership skills.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Develop your in-house network, especially if you work at a subsidiary. Increase your chances for exposure! Listen to feedback in order to grow.

Product Owner Business Intelligence, Brittany, France
Take an active role in your learning and development.

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I have two main roles: I’m the technical lead for the data visualization tool Tableau©, and I’m a member of the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence.

My role is to meet the needs of our business teams by designing appropriate data and data visualization solutions. I help them to enhance their skills in these two areas.

To do my job, you have to enjoy working with data, be curious and listen to others. Understanding business challenges is essential to develop relevant data solutions.

Before moving to data operations, I studied international business and worked for 15 years in supply chain management and logistics. Then I joined Groupe Rocher to work on the continuous improvement of the supply chain and then on the digital transformation of supply processes. In 2023, I became a BI Product Owner on the Information Systems team.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

At Groupe Rocher, there are lots of on-the-job learning opportunities. In digital transformation, you have to implement new tools and therefore learn about them by talking with developers, checking against benchmarks, learning through feedback, meeting people within the company, and so on. You can only get that kind of knowledge by doing your job.

The group provides several ways to develop your skills internally. For example, we have the “Learn” program for peer-to-peer learning within the Information Systems teams. Every quarter, employees can join online workshops and webinars to learn from in-house experts who share their skills, their expertise on IS tools, and their processes.

I’ve been able to learn so much from working with different group businesses. I’ve discovered sectors and areas I didn’t know about and I’m currently forging new professional skills thanks to the group! After 15 years in supply chain operations, I’m now working in data! I’ve also had access to various training programs to develop my technical skills.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Take an active role in your learning and development. If you don’t ask for anything, you won’t get anything.

Don’t wait for someone to come along and offer you jobs or new responsibilities. Be proactive, go after the people making the decisions.

Editorial Designer, Yves Rocher, Mexico
My career path has been incredibly enriching.

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I am responsible for designing printed catalogues containing commercial offers for Yves Rocher products, with careful consideration of design elements such as graphics, content, and visuals. In my role, it is essential to accurately capture the messages the brand wishes to convey to our customers, allowing me to adapt the design appropriately for the Mexican market while maintaining the distinctive French "touch" of the products. This position requires patience, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to listen to others’ ideas.

I have always had a passion for design and photography. After earning my degree in Design and Visual Communication, I joined the Groupe Rocher in 2017, and my career path since then has been incredibly enriching.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

Throughout my time at the Group, I have received numerous training courses aimed at enhancing my technical skills, including photography retouching and proficiency in various design software. I learn a lot on the job, honing my graphic design skills through a variety of marketing and commercial campaigns, from product launches to Christmas promotions.

As a designer, it is crucial for me to regularly update my technical skills. I had long aspired to enroll in a Master's degree in Product and Model Photography in Mexico but was unable to afford it. Recently, however, I was awarded a sponsorship from Yves Rocher Mexico to pursue this master’s program! Our internal initiative called "2Cool4School" allows the company to finance nearly 100% of a certification program for employees who successfully compete for this opportunity.

To earn this sponsorship, I had to present my professional project to our board of directors and demonstrate the potential benefits for the company from investing in my education. Receiving such support from the Groupe means a great deal to me. I am now excited to apply my future learnings and contribute with stunning photography and design to Yves Rocher in Mexico.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Be daring, maintain your enthusiasm throughout your career journey, and don’t be afraid of making mistakes; they are the greatest teachers.

Director of Culture & Engagement, Arbonne, USA
Networking is essential in a global company like Groupe Rocher.

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I oversee the employee engagement program and talent development at Arbonne, focusing on creating a positive environment for growth, wellness, and diversity. I'm proud of our recognition trophees, including "Best Place to Work" in the U.S. (2023) and "Healthy Workplace" for Arbonne Global (2022). My role requires agility, strong communication, empathy, and active listening to understand needs and gain internal support for projects.

Before entering HR, I spent years in technological sales, which involved extensive travel. This experience by chance led me to help a friend with social initiatives, sparking my transition to HR. I started at Arbonne in 2015 as a part-time contractor for corporate events and quickly became a full-time employee. Now, I manage significant aspects of engagement and people development at the global Arbonne level.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

I've been lucky to have leaders who encourage decision-making and learning from mistakes. Working in a lean HR team has fostered hands-on experience. For example, I developed recruitment skills through external and internal conferences. Participating in cross-functional projects has also been invaluable.

I've completed formal training, including the HR Generalist Course, and participated in the Groupe Rocher Global Leadership Program for women in 2024, which greatly enhanced my skills.

One of the best initiatives the Groupe offers is international meetings where we all connect (even virtually). I gain so much from these events and I often connect with participants afterward to dive deeper into topics of interest. Networking is essential in a global company like Groupe Rocher.

Additionally, I have a role of a mentor in the Arbonne Mentoring Circle program, which helps me share knowledge and experiences with others. This year I will be guiding my second mentee!

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Seek out various resources—financial, external, internal, formal, and informal—to support your journey. There are numerous opportunities to enhance your career. Broaden your network and make connections beyond your immediate role; you’ll learn a lot from others along the way!

Senior Director Manufacturing & Distribution, Arbonne, USA
Think big and look further !

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

My job is to ensure operational efficiency and deliver excellent services to our consultants. I serve as a team manager overseeing around 120 people across various functions, including manufacturing, distribution, operations support, transportation, facilities maintenance, and EHS (environment, health, and safety).

To succeed in this role, I need a deep understanding of operational processes and the ability to be agile, as business needs regularly change. Management skills are also crucial, given the size and professional diversity of my team.

I've been with Arbonne for 15 years, starting as a temporary employee on the warehouse floor. I quickly recognized unlimited career opportunities here and transitioned into a new role every two years. Each position provided me with hands-on experience and allowed me to take on new responsibilities. I've worked in various capacities within supply, manufacturing, and distribution. I also completed my bachelor’s degree while working at Arbonne and hold a diploma in operations.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

The learning environment here feels organic. Since Groupe Rocher acquired Arbonne in 2018, we have seen significant growth in learning and skills development. For instance, I went to France in 2019 for a learning expedition to explore the group’s manufacturing and supply processes, which helped me integrate those practices within Arbonne effectively.

Many of my friends often express that they lack development opportunities with their employers, but I continue to learn and grow every year.

I highly value the experiential learning I receive on the job. To enhance it I’ve attended numerous professional seminars to refine my knowledge in various areas, such as lean practices. And although schools provide useful concepts, hands-on experience is invaluable.

Formal learning also plays a significant role in my development. We have external lecturers who come to our sites to conduct certifying classes, and I find the Arbonne e-learning modules to be exceptionally beneficial.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Always keep the big picture in mind; don’t get too caught up in just the "now". Think big and look further.

Foundation Director, Arbonne, USA
The best way to learn is by observing.

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I lead all philanthropy initiatives at Arbonne through the Flourish Arbonne Foundation, our global nonprofit organization. From 2020 to 2024, we provided numerous monetary grants for youth mental health projects. With our mission evolving to "Building a better tomorrow for humanity and the planet," we will continue our grant-making, focusing on supporting local communities, primarily in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

To excel in this role, one must be proactive, a self-starter, and adaptable. Attention to detail and a fresh perspective on processes are also essential.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in human development and have spent my entire career in nonprofit organizations. I joined Arbonne in 2016 as a fundraising manager and was promoted to Foundation Director a few years later. I’m also a member of a local NGO community and a certified fundraising professional, which requires ongoing training and development in the U.S.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

At Arbonne, I have various opportunities for learning, from formal training and conferences to experiential learning. My role requires cross-functional collaboration, which allows me to learn a great deal from my peers as I discover their roles and processes.

One of my most significant learning experiences came from adapting our Foundation team to gradual structural changes. This taught me invaluable lessons that can’t be learned in a classroom. We needed to streamline our fundraising processes while maintaining service levels and distributing projects among Arbonne countries. This experience helped me learn how to prioritize effectively, develop an agile mindset, and constantly reassess priorities.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

The best way to learn is by observing. As a seasoned professional, you have a wealth of knowledge to share, so don’t hesitate to mentor others, it's a great way to pass on insights and experiences.

Senior Manager Regulatory & Scientific Affairs, Arbonne, États-Unis
Enhance your teams' performance, foster a sense of inclusion.

Can you tell us about what you do at Groupe Rocher and your background, along with the qualities and skills you need to do your job?

I oversee compliance for Arbonne’s personal care products here in the U.S., focusing on labeling, ingredients, registration, and safety, all within the legal department. My job demands a high level of ethics and accountability since regulations can often be complex and nuanced.

I’ve been with Arbonne for 38 years! I started in 1986 at our manufacturing plant as a laboratory technician. After nearly a decade in product development as a chemist, I transitioned to our regulatory function at the plant, where I spent 12 years and eventually became a Senior Manager. In 2018, I moved to Arbonne HQ as the Senior Manager for Regulatory & Scientific Affairs.

How has the group supported you in your learning and what concrete actions have been most useful to you?

At Arbonne, I’ve had countless opportunities for growth and continuous learning. Back in the 1980s, when I first became interested in regulations—an emerging field at that time—the company provided tremendous support for my on-the-job learning. Each major project I led helped me gain new knowledge. For instance, in 2017, I had the chance to lead the implementation of a compliance software tool, which was a fantastic learning experience in cross-functional collaboration and project management.

When the U.S. government enacted the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) in 2022, I faced the challenge of ensuring our cross-functional teams complied with the new regulations. This experience taught me a lot about internal communication, collaboration, and technical writing.

As a team manager, I also learn with the help of our HR teams how to use various HR development tools, like the DISC test and Predictive Index, to enhance team performance and foster a sense of inclusion.

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to go further with their learning?

Be curious! Don’t hesitate to reach out to others in your field—be bold! Ask questions and be proactive. There’s a wealth of information out there, and learning to collaborate is essential; otherwise, you might find yourself doing it alone.
